Just to add to the conversation about alternatives to MOB, we launched Montana eBird last year which is a portal within eBird that we manage that has Montana specific information on bird studies, citizen science volunteer opportunities, general info, bird photos/videos/sound recordings, and bird sightings (you can see Montana rarities at the bottom of the page).

All you need to do is add “/mt” to the end of the eBird url:
www.ebird.org/mt

A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was at the spooky abandoned Syringa Trailer Park
ponds, east of Moscow in Latah County, this morning. From the SW corner of
the ponds, look west to the blue and white trailer. The sparrow was in the
shrub on the east side of that trailer. Not much on the ponds except a
handful of American Wigeon.

Looked hard twice mid-day and late afternoon. Great Blue Heron, Double-crested Cormorant, Wood Ducks, Hooded Merganser, Mallard with blow dart in head, turtles etc. etc. but no Green heron.
