American Pipits

Had great plans for some spring-prep yard work this AM, but a morning snow put a damper on that. So, walked on down to the Snake & was treated to two breeding-plumaged American Pipits. Hadn’t seen before in the unstreaked, buffy-breast form! (As per Sibley, 2nd ed). Beautiful! An almost pinkish sheen to the breast in the proper light. 

Now, back up to house & sun is breaking through. May have to do that yard work, yet!

A Summer tanager is visiting a suet feeder in east Boise.  The feeder can be seen on Hwy 21 just before Surprise Way.  The feeder is in the back yard of a light yellow, two story house.  There is a large pull off near the house.  

Map coordinates are in my checklist.
