I had a male Bobwhite visit my yard here in the North End a few years ago. What tipped me off? I heard the distinctive “Bob-white!” and turned to my friend, “That sounds just like a Bobwhite, how can that be?” Learned that there were escapees. Hadn’t heard one since living in Michigan decades ago. Sure enough. Here’s a shot I took of him sitting on my neighbor’s car, and then later, when it wandered into my backyard and onto the trellis.

Sorry to jump in and I forgot about those little guys being used to train hunting dogs. Judy

My money is on a female adult Bobwhite.
