This was a morning hike along Haw Creek and up Look Out Road. Nice surprise to see the thrasher warbling away for a very long stretch.
Need help IDing the vireo – have recorded song on the above checklist. Song Sleuth says red-eyed vireo, and that was my first guess… but… anyone else care to take a stab at it?

Hi Robert, I don’t, but what I can tell you is that the only place I’ve ever found the Black-throated Sparrows was in the area right around Initial Point, which is on the way to Swan Falls. The Sage Thrasher should be in that area as well.
Btw, an ‘easy’ spot for Sage Thrasher always seemed to be in the stretch along the highway north of Lucky Peak… don’t know if others would have a similar recommendation.

There is a Yellow-throated Vireo singing north of the Riverton Boat Launch (43.1462484, -112.4583993). Working on photos now.

FYI Gem Cty birding
According to Emmett Ranger Dist this a.m., Sagehen Res is closed until 8/31 for logging ops. We keep hiking the hills around it and other than a (lucky) brief windy day in early May, looks like we won’t have access to the trail until fall.
And speaking of birds, some of the local home haircuts around here, including the frightening one in my mirror, are starting to resemble horned larks… minus the cute factor.
