OMG they were dang adorable!! That was a very interesting program wasn’t it?

I know I’m watching too much tv, but at least Oregon Field Guide isn’t political. Tonight one of the 3 stories was an effort to restore Burrowing Owls on the deactivated Umatilla chemical weapons storage facility. I think the program repeats on IPTV during the week. Burrowing Owls are not birds that I see very often (and they were way cute).

Dry Lake is south of Nampa.
Head south on Hwy 45 to to Missouri. Turn right. Turn left on Dry Lake. Continue to Stagecoach and turn right. You will see the water on the south side of the road.

I was there this am about 9 red neck phalaropes still there. Owl photo silver city rd.
Could someone tell me where Dry Lake is located and possibly how to get there? I’m thinking I might have to go and check it out next weekend. Thanks so much for the help!

The pond sits north south. We were out there about 9 am and had good light.

I have not been out there in years — used to be one of my regular stops. I am going to have to head out that way next week sometimes. What time of day is best to be there lighting wise. Its hard to remember are you looking south of the road into the ponds?
