Yes. I’m to blame. I took on the task of updating the checklist. I found the abundance codes far too cumbersome for readability on a small field checklist and made the choice to eliminate the codes because they are located in the list of Idaho review species, which can also be found on the IBRC website. This downloadable excel file can be found at – ibrc.idahobirds.net/review-species.

The new checklist is missing the season, abundance, and region information
found on the 2007 edition, which I always found informative and valuable.
gotta love the drama we might witness out there, waaay better than the telly =)
and you could get so lucky as to be hit in the head by a Barred Owl, yeeeeouch, or have a goshawk rip the hat off your head if you’re too close to their nest 😉
over the years we’ve (loosely? informally?) referred to the beasties as nocturnal and diurnal raptors…
