Re: 17 Baird’s

I was there this morning 7:30 to 10:25 but saw no Baird’s. Only Sandpipers today for me were Solitary (E bird flagged the 3 I saw) , Spotted, Semipalmated, Western, Least. Had other projects as soon as I got home so I just now finished checking ID from my photos and posting my Ebird check list. Will not get all the photos culled and processed for e bird until tomorrow.

I live in Oregon, so not aware of your usual  numbers but a flock of 17 Baird’s Sandpipers seemed like a big number to me, at Blacks Creek. Had 12 species of shorebirds today, so fewer than a few days ago but nice birding.

Hummingbird Battles Begin

25° drop for our high temps & rain most of yesterday & this AM. With the weather change, also a change at the hummingbird feeder. Three species now present: Black-chinned, Rufous & Calliope with females & juveniles of all being the most common. The only adult male I’ve seen today is Black-chinned. Overall numbers have increased, as well, with battles at the feeder, esp between Rufous & Calliope. Enjoying both the cooler temps & the feeder battles!

Re: Scissor-tailed Flycatcher

It is not at Centennial Marsh … it is has been at Camas National Wildlife Refuge north of Idaho Falls.

Good Morning Birders,

I am wanting to go and try to see the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher at Centennial Marsh this weekend. Before I start planning on heading out, has anyone recently seen it? If so, could you give me some specifics as to where I should be looking?
Thank you so much for your help! Hope all of you are staying cool in these hot summer temperatures.
