This looks good for a young rufous hummingbird. Based on the throat spangles I would guess young male, but wouldn’t say for sure without seeing the tail
I’m attaching a photo of an immature/female hummingbird that my husband took on August 1, 2021 in our yard in Emmett. I thought it was a Calliope, but it seems like the tail barely extends beyond the wings, which would indicate Rufous. This picture is on our 2022 calendar that we give to friends and family, so I want to make sure I have an accurate ID.
