In addition to other points already made your photo shows the
rufous edged rump and crown feathers and orangish eyebrow typical
of Rufous Hummingbird.

I tried to figure out the ID by comparing various online photos of
immature/female Rufous Hummingbirds, but it seemed like all of
those photos showed a concentrated spot of spangles in the center
of the throat. The bird in my photo doesn’t have that spot, and
that’s why I wasn’t sure about the ID.

No other sightings of the gull.

Sean Cozart has spotted a white gull with no dark feathers. He says he originally saw it from the dam near the park. He has also seen it from parking lot 7. It’s been seen in the water and flying. Gull was seen about 1/2 to a mile out.

Sean thinks it might be a Ross’s gull. Several birders are looking; if you happen to come to the lake please keep an eye out for it.

Oh, great. Thanks. I’m on my way to see them.

Yes – we just left and had good views of them feeding in spruce trees, mostly in ~the middle of the main conifer area.  We counted 14 at once and seemed like mainly 1 group.

About 15-20 crossbills were seen this morning. Towards the back of the cemetery

Does anyone know if the crossbills are still at the Caldwell Cemetery? Would love to check them out if so.
