Is this recent? Looks like a Swainson’s Hawk, and looking at the bar chart for Idaho on eBird this would be the earliest record ever (usually very end of March, early April).

We saw a sizable increase in LEGO and PISI this winter at the feeders. As of today, however, the PISI, as well as DEJU, are gone.

Yes, the majority of the birds at our feeders have been Siskins too.

After a slow start in the fall, we average 4-6 dozen siskins, 3-4 dozen assorted gold finches and another 3-4 dozen assorted usual suspects a day. Coopers and Sharpies have become fairly common,
as well.
Maybe we need to start a seed-buying cooperative, these numbers make for an expensive hobby.

We have had very large numbers of Pine Siskin at our feeders at our apartment near Mallard and Parkcenter in S.E. Boise this year many times around 100 on the ground, thistle feeder, seed block and 2 squirrel proof tube feeders swarming with fussing and feeding siskin. We also have lesser and a few american goldfinches but they do seem to come in larger numbers when the siskin crowd is smaller. The downy woodpecker, black-capped chickadees and red-breasted nuthatch seem to come whenever they want. House finches a little less so. Song sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos on the ground do not seem intimidated and feed with the siskin, mallards and doves. Of course all disappear when a cooper’s swoops in for a meal 🙂

Siskins in Boise
We have two finch socks (Boise Bench) that have historically been popular with lesser goldfinches and we’ve had 30-40 at times in the winters.
Siskins have visited some years but not every year and they’d co-exist with the goldfinches. However, this spring we’ve seen mainly siskins (20-30 at a time) which seem to have pushed the goldfinches out of the picture.

Traveled to 4 corners of u.s & states in between have never seen more then 10 sand __ cranes in a bunch I stopped at 100 bushes in way Ken pollard was about 100 ft. Further he counted 150 first of life see that many.opal lane roswell area
