Bewick’s Tundra Swan Near Carey
Kathleen Cameron just asked me to report that she and Poo Wright-Pulliam have a Bewick’s Tundra Swan on a pond near Carey. The pond is on highway 26 south of Carey where Payne Rd. connects with HWY 26. She sent a photo and it’s a cool looking bird with a lot of yellow on the bill.

Re: Albuquerque spots
Hi Jack,
I just realized I never replied to you. Thanks for the suggestions! We are here in ABQ so I will try to hit those spots.
Have a great day!

Re: Tundra Swans
250+ seen Saturday near Cascade on mostly frozen coves of Cascade reservoir, at Stonebreaker Rd and Sugarloaf campground boat dock area. Very boisterously calling and interacting
Thrilling sighting
Re: Tundra Swans
Lots of excitement there! It would be a special treat to fall asleep to the sounds of swans calling.

Re: Tundra Swans
Wish I could have taken a photo. Only have the camera on my phone. Tried taking a photo of some groups flying over in daylight, today. But, can’t begin to make out what I was actually seeing.

Re: Tundra Swans
Brian, I hope you post that shot of them flying under the full moon!

Tundra Swans
Tundra Swans are definitely heading north! Last night, fell asleep to literally thousands calling while flying overhead under the full moon for a couple of hours. Today, stopped counting at a thousand. Groups of from 50 to 300 still flying over.
Others: WB Nuthatch wintered over on place & is still around. Townsend’s Solitaires, which have wintered on place, now find selves competing with Robins, now arriving, & going for juniper berries. Bald Eagles & GH Owls are nesting.
