Yesterday, had a female Cassin’s Finch at the feeders. Male Red-winged Blackbirds have been here about 10 days. And, just now, heard a Kildeer calling in flight. The Canada Geese are busy with flights overhead most of the day, now. With a few Trumpeter Swans thrown in.
Linda Wentz and I believe we found the Common teal this morning. I posted 5 photos in eBird and in Idaho Rare Bird Sightings and Discussion Facebook page taken at great distance. Not great photos but hopefully adds to the evidence that this bird is indeed a common (Eurasian green-winged) teal: https://ebird.org/checklist/S104295570
For those not on eBird or Facebook, yesterday afternoon Carter picked out what looks good for a male Common Teal – Eurasian version of Green-winged – in Caldwell off exit 26. We had them circling over the house the other night and it’s such a sight to see and hear. In the big orchestra of birds, would they be percussion or a woodwind?
