reminds me that ebirders, er, elisters and ereviewers, made our place in GJ a hotspot without asking us, like i said, kind of creepy ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
btw, OVEN was in our GJ backyard for six days only, 22-27 Sep 2012, had no disturbances per se, but
maybe we should have offered mealworms, eh? 😉

Yes, I hesitated to create one in that case because: 1) I never anticipated the bird to stick around for more than a day or two, 2) I was just too busy to think hard about it, and 3) I was hesitant to create a hot spot for a private home and especially without input from the owners/residents (and I hadn’t talked to them about it due to #s 1 and 2). I’m guessing that bird is likely to move on as the weather changes in the next week, but we will see.

There is now what eBird calls a “Stakeout Hotspot” for this bird and this location. If you observe the Brant at ITD headquarters, please use the eBird hotspot called “stakeout Brant 2019 Boise (ITD Headquarters)”. If you used a hotspot called “Idaho Transportation Department Headquarters” between yesterday afternoon and this morning, you’ll find that the location has been renamed, and you don’t need to do anything. If you previously entered the bird from a personal location, please consider changing the location of your checklist to this new hotspot to keep the map clean and tidy, and to help others figure out when the bird was last seen. If you observe the Brant at some other location in Boise, then it’s best to use either a personal location or other hotspot(s) (if appropriate). For now, most or all observations have been from ITD headquarters.
