California Scrub-Jay has returned to the area in Eagle it was seen previously this year. Near corner of E Plaza Dr and E State St on high perches.

Brant cont. at Veterans Mem Park
This afternoon Steve Dougill and I watched the Brant in the water near the footbridge. It was accompanied by 100+ Canadas and some ducks.
In the neighborhood where my son lives, near Garfield School, about 15 Yellow-rumps were busy in a mixed flock of juncos, waxwings etc. I could not find any other warbler species in the flock. They successfully gleaned insects from spider webs and drank a bit at a wet down spout. 50+ degrees is apparently easy living for warblers!

Denise and Cheryl have my heartfelt appreciation for making the 2019 Nampa CBC possible.
They are excellent facilitators, it takes a Village to pull off a CBC, I am grateful they are in our Village.

The 66th Nampa Christmas Bird Count day is coming to an end. Approximately 40 people participated in the count. And what a windy day it was, 15-23 mph winds all day. The count day total is 98 species and 5 additional count week birds (count week ends 12/24). The best bird of the day was found at Canyon Hill Cemetery, a Nashville Warbler.
