Saw one WF this morning around 11:45, and then hear another in the same area. The location of the seen bird was on the south channel of the river east of Eagle Road about 3/4 of a mile down the trail. The exact location was 43.67658, -116.34333.

Hi all, I am back for a couple of days in the Boise area after birding eastern Idaho and getting the Cassia Crossbills, twice. We also had an Indigo Bunting just south of Idaho and I thought of your bird that was spotted earlier this year.
I headed out this morning, back to Hull’s Gulch and couldn’t believe who I ran into. The Barred Owl, again! It was a relatively quiet morning. Much different from the morning in May that I birded there, but was still pleased to have a Chat, Quail, and lots of birds of prey.
Attached are photos of the Barred. Honestly, he doesn’t look that healthy. I hope it is just how he was sitting and the time of day.

Sorry for the late post, but I had no internet during my nights camping and wanted to include some photos on one of the checklists as well.
I finally was able to make the trip to n. Idaho in search of the ALFl(s), realizing that it had been well over 2 weeks since the last report. I was hoping to be there at first light, when the odds of a bird still calling this late in the nesting season might be best, but that didn’t end of happening due to other birding. I did check the stake-out location on Tuesday late afternoon and saw/heard no “Traill’s” type flycatchers in the vicinity.
