Well, I guess that goes to show how deceptive a photo can be!
I agree Solitary Sandpiper on closer inspection, the photo gives the impression of a much browner bird.

“Either that’s the world’s biggest chickadee or the deer is visiting the neighbor’s birdfeeder again”. Collister Drive winds up into Polecat Gulch in the Boise foothills. On my way up to the Polecat Trailhead, I saw a deer grazing on shrubs and flowers in people’s yards once but this was the first time I’d seen one working a birdfeeder.
