First male rufous just showed. Maybe a touch late.

I just had a male rufous hummingbird at my feeder in the New Sweden area southwest of Idaho Falls. First I’ve seen this season.

Heermann’s Gull

July 7, 2024 Idaho Birders Linked Electronically

The Heermann’s Gull reported at Henry’s Lake State Park was
present until dark tonight. It acts like it’s familiar with the
area so I’m guessing it will be around for a while and probably
already has been. Time will tell.

Re: Hummingbird Question

July 7, 2024 Idaho Birders Linked Electronically

I haven’t seen any male hummingbirds for about a week so I would say the males have started heading south. The females and youngsters are the only ones hitting the feeders now.

Hummingbird Question

July 7, 2024 Idaho Birders Linked Electronically
Looked back & my first Fall migration Rufous Hummingbird last year was July 2nd. Haven’t seen any yet at feeder, only Black-chinneds, so far this year. Checked eBird & it appears Rufous have started their southward trek. Anybody spotting some that appear to be on the move? Just curious.
