Re: Swarming of alate ants?

I saw the same thing last year out at Foote Park by Lucky Peak Dam. I also have photos of Lewis’s Woodpeckers with bills full of bugs — which I am guessing are these same ants. The most interesting thing I saw at the time were Starlings doing the same thing. I have never seen a Starling exhibit anything like graceful flycatching style of flight.
