Agree on comparison to Northern Flicker – feeding
on the ground in loose groups (winter only here, as I’ve
observed), and courtship/territorial behavior. Very similar
moves!

The show is definitely a
love letter to Woodpeckers and is doing wonders for
woodpecker awareness, based on the numerous viewing
recommendations floating around 🙂
