Whimbrels
Here’s a link to a very cool video. Apparently up to half the Atlantic flyway population of Whimbrels (20,000 birds) roost on a small island off South Carolina. Not over the course of migration but all at the same time! Enjoy.

New email
As with everyone else who has had Cable One as their email (for years), I am migrating to a new address. Since it’s pouring rain outside, I thought I’d take this opportunity to announce my new email. I’m hoping whoever is in charge will read this and take pity on an old fart who loves to get all the bird news of Idaho, and allow me to continue to get the postings.
So, my new email address is tmccabe9@…. I was fortunate to get one similar to my old one, though that may actually cause confusion. Cable One will not stop email in Boise until December 31, 2021, but I thought I should try to stay ahead of that date.
On another note, last week I surpassed 4,000 miles on my bike for the year. This is the 10th year in a row. But, hey, who’s counting?
