Very cool sighting!
We’d love to hear updates on this (and any other) Anna’s in the area for the Intermountain Bird Observatory’s Anna’s hummingbird project.

Leanne,
I believe you are correct… congratulations! We have recorded the species at our place 10.4 miles north of Ola on 7 occasions in the 26 years we have lived here. Our records range from 2003 to 2019 between June 14 & October 1.
Fred Zeillemaker, Ola.
In Emmett (east valley), we had a hummer at our feeder yesterday (October 10). I’ve attached a photo. My tentative ID is juvenile male Anna’s. Let me know if you have a different opinion.
If it is an Anna’s, it’s the first one we’ve seen in our 4 years of living here.

The birds in my yard all have light lores typical of gambelii.
