Hi all, I just had a Broad-winged Hawk fly over my house here in Blaine County. It may be time that a few start trickling through.

Species are coming on strong, this W/E so far, notables: Williamson’s sapsuckers, spotted towhee’s, Wild turkey’s gobbling, turkey vultures, ospreys, Canada jays.
Not hearing N Pygmy owls or sawhet owls, as was the case 3 weeks ago?

I saw the first redwing blackbirds on Mon, April 6th. House finches showed up on Wed, April 8th. The first gold finches arrived on Sat, April 11.

The starling that comes back each year started nesting on April 4th. And she spent time looking for something in my feeder, and not finding anything to her liking, she just sat there and kept the sparrows and junkos away.
