Highlights, Valley County Birding 5/24-5/26: Cassin’s vireo, warbling vireo, Williamson’s sapsucker, N Pygmy owl, Pileated WP, ruffed grouse drumming, hermit thrush, black headed grosbeak; warblers: Townsend’s, orange crowned, y-rumped, yellow, Nashville, calliope, rufous and black chinned hummers. Also big surprise when a wood duck flushed from my “screech owl” nest box, probably about 600+ meters from Cascade Reservoir!
