Re: [IBLE] Birding Books……

I must say thank you to everyone who has responded so far…… several of you replied off-line, and I see many great ideas for further reading !!

The Berthold book on migration is not what I’d call an easy read, but fascinating to me because I’m grounded in the physical sciences (which means data, lots of data), and bird migration just plain rocks!

Best events I’ve attended include the TOS (Texas Ornithological Society) 50th Anniversary Conference on the coastal bend of Texas (loads of people) and a small workshop on bird migration (maybe 15 people) sponsored by the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory… Ken Able was there (Gatherings of Angels, Migrating Birds and their Ecology, 1999), and so was Chandler Robbins (Golden Guide, 1983) !!! Whoa Nellie!

Back to more reading…….. and more birding !! 😉
