Well, looks like fall songbird migration is coming to an end in my neck of the woods. I saw my first fall Swainson’s Thrush this AM, which in past years has always been the last songbird to push through. I found a handful of Ruby-crowned Kinglets, as well. Not a single warbler.

This fall migration was just “off” for warblers through my area this season. I can usually count on MacGillivray’s showing first & within a few weeks, a multitude of mixed flocks, including Townsend’s. Just didn’t materialize this season. My best fall migrants were early season Gray Catbirds, sometimes 3-4 at a time. Had a few Orange-crowneds, Wilson’s &, most numerous, Yellow-rumpeds. But even the YR’s were sparse, maybe 8-10 in a group, at most. Now, just waiting for juncos to start showing.
