This last week, I was in Rosarito Beach, Mexico for a work event. Yesterday morning, I was exercising – it was a beautiful sunny morning – and a Say’s Phoebe flew up in front of me and perched on a plant. This morning, I am home in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho – and it is snowing big flakes – and a Say’s Phoebe is singing his little heart out in the eaves of my house. The contrast over all those miles with the same bird two mornings in a row provided a special experience with this wonderful little bird, who has been my most faithful companion here, year after year, all year round, nesting & roosting under my porch.
