[IBLE] Another yard visitor and a river visitor

Most of my fall visitors have left, including the Cassin’s Finches. But
today I got a quick glimpse of a White-breasted Nuthatch on our fence, just
before it went over into the neighbor’s yard. A number of years ago they
were all along the river for most of the winter. I hadn’t seen or heard one
in several years until one called to me along the river about a week ago. So
it was quite a treat to see one in our back yard.

Plus, I got to see the Green Heron at Esther Simplot Park today. I ran into
RL and he told me one had been sighted. So we were talking about the fact
that others had been unable to find the bird today, when suddenly the
gorgeous critter decided to fly out over the back pond, almost to the other
side, and then return back to the west side of the pond. Another treat!
