That’s Bush League stuff, Larry. If we only get 230 species on our CBC here in San Blas (Jan. 2) I’ll be wanting to slit my wrists . . .
We had 294 species last year, with only 28 counters (that was the most since 1986, however). If I had the team they have in Texas, we’d top 300 species every year. We had 310 with count week birds.
Easy flights to Puerto Vallarta – maybe you’d like to join us . . .
Since we are sharing our fun birds, I had a Townsend’s Solitaire on my CBC this past Sunday from Hales Corners, Wisconsin. Thanks for sending one to us!
Interesting that the Barred Owl is becoming a little more reliable in your area. Common for us. Not sure what that says about the fate of the Spotted Owl.

This morning I found a pair of HARLEQUIN DUCKS at the “Pump Station Overlook” (check the eBird hotspot for exact location) on the Clearwater River a few miles east of Lewiston on US-12. They flew down river, but Katie Sorenson refound them back at the overlook at 9:15, and half a dozen of us are currently enjoying them for the Lewiston CBC. Photos will be up on eBird, later.

Has anyone else peeked at Jason’s effort for yesterday’s CBC?
not knowing his full effort, to me it’s nothing short of epic / heroic / because his 2nd list (below) is for a ten-mile trek across the Scottish Highlands !! 😉

FWIW, I wish eBird could “time-stamp” your checklists and show them chronologically, so we could better envision / follow / your CBC adventure, Jason’s CBC adventure, yada yada yada….
eh? 😉
