Re: [IBLE] recent increase of spam on IBLE….

Just arrived back fro S California for 8-9 days and received several spam mail, I think, from Cal-Birds.  Talked with an eBird moderator and think the spam might hav originated from eBird Orange Country, that I had communicated with. Got two this morning and one yesterday.  I did not open them and threw them directly into spam and than erased spam.  Nothing to do with IBLE.

Re: [IBLE] recent increase of spam on IBLE….

I’m not receiving any spam from IBLE. But over the past 6 months or so I’ve seen 3-4 spam messages from birders I know. I just assumed their email had been spoofed.

[IBLE] Re: Lake Walcott Spillway

I could only muster up 4 of the 6 American Golden-plovers when I stopped by this evening, that had been reported yesterday (Kathy) and again this morning (Cheryl) at the spillway. I was glad to see the 4 though, and there could easily have been a couple more resting in the rocks out of sight. Probably 1,000 gulls or so present too. Lots of rain/wind storms in the vicinity; hopefully the weather won’t drive them on south for awhile yet.

Sent from my iPad

[IBLE] Lake Walcott spillway

Lake Walcott Spillway is very low now as a new boat ramp is being built. I asked the construction guys if they cared I was there and they don’t mind- just be careful around the equipment. Very little water being let out which is forming small pools of water and attracting a lot of birds. Gulls gulls and more gulls
( 5 sp) seen this morning but I certainly could have missed a Mew or something else more rare. Seeing 6 American Golden plovers was a real treat! And a white-throated sparrow popped up in front of me when I phished the song sparrows to take a break from scoping. Morning light is best and bring a scope for best viewing.
Cheryl.
