[IBLE] Alder Flycatcher

At least one Alder Flycatcher is still present at the coordinates in the Ware/Carlisle eBird checklists. In fact, the habitat picture in their June 21st checklist is exactly what I was looking at while listening to the male’s two-note song. Most of the time I heard the song closer to the rocky ridge but couldn’t see the singing bird amongst the dead trees for over an hour. He moved side to side not west to east. I was about to give up when an Alder Flycatcher started to sing much closer to the road—just west of that log pile seen on the right side. He sang from one location for quite awhile and I was able to get some good photos. Based on previous reports, I think there are two Alder Flycatchers, one of which is bolder and stays closer to the road.
