Species calls Identification
Yesterday I was standing outside with a few people in Eagle, and we heard a group of birds fly over making calls we could not identify. No one had Merlin on their phone! One of the people had an older video she had taken while in McCall of the same calls. Can anyone identify the bird species?

Saw my first pair of Wood Ducks for the season flyby along the Snake River this AM. Otherwise, a very quiet winter, bird wise.

Short eared owls
Sean Pursley found short-eared owls on Big Foot Road south of Nampa. There are 3 owls and they were seen near the compost piles.

I was intrigued to come across a pair yesterday on the Boise River 100 yards west of the Garden City Library. Seems unlikely it was the same pair from the day before but I savored the thought.
