There was one at Hidden Springs last November. I have not seen it recently.

Suggestions for Goshawk
Does anyone have any suggestions on where we might go to possibly find a goshawk in and around the Boise area? We’ve only been in Idaho since September and although I’ve seen a couple in my lifetime, they have been far and few between. It has been years since I’ve seen one and would love to see one again.

For j.p.check e bird for that county. St.fe should be good check water areas I think it’s semi arid there

This is only 2nd hand, but a reliable recommendation from family there, the Rio Grande Nature Center SP. It’s on our must visit list.

Bosque del Apache is great if you can budget most of a day to justify the 2.5-3 hour round trip. Closer to town, check out Valle del Oro NWR in Albuquerque’s south valley (https://ebird.org/hotspot/L1778306, ). I agree with the suggestion of the Rio Grande Nature Center (https://ebird.org/hotspot/L196306) and associated trail system, and any of the eBird hotspots in the Corrales area (e.g., https://ebird.org/hotspot/L1145419, https://ebird.org/hotspot/L628928) provide additional excellent birding on the floodplain. The road to Sandia Crest features many worthwhile stops sampling habitats from 5000 to over 10,000 feet, and a few Rosy-Finches might still be lingering at the Crest House (http://cnmas.newmexicoaudubon.org/conservation/the-rosy-finch-project/). You’ll be just a little early for most migrants, but a few early species should be arriving, and resident birds should be active and singing.

Helli! Bosque del Apache is about an hour and a half south. Don’t know if that’s too far. I visited many years ago and it was amazing.

An Aplomado Falcon was at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge for several years, several years back. That’s where I saw my first Aplomado Falcon. Don’t know if it is still there but it is a definite place all birders should stop at if they are close.
