Those may be the two Trumpeter swans that have been at Hyatt Hidden lakes reserve until it mostly froze over the last couple of days. We were wondering where they went. Thanks fir info.

Folks –
Two swans over by Marianne Williams Park. An adult and a grey bird (cygnet). We saw them in retaining ponds from E. Warm Springs, location is at https://goo.gl/maps/YpPrYbc3LipNrDsq7. Definitely not mute swans, probably tundras, but could have been trumpeters. Didn’t have binos so couldn’t get suitable look at them from Warm Springs.

Last night a segment on t.v.was about rock climbers hired by an agency in Colorado studying way to address birds being killed flying into.blades on wind farms.they were installing sensors to.see if putting large decals in black will help birds see & avoid blades hope it helps to stop millions being killed

Robert – there have been up to two Least Sandpipers reported at the Deer Flat NWR Lower Dam canal outlet, and various estimates from 1500-5000 snow geese (with some Ross’s mixed in) out on the water.

For whatever reason there seems to be a lot of Snow Geese hanging
around this winter. I was at Cottonwood access on CJ Strike a
couple weeks ago and there were two big flocks around the holes in
the ice, probably numbering in the thousands of birds. Strange to
see them…
