Definitely have more black chinned hummers, including juvies, at the
feeders. Have identified one female rufous.
Bullocks orioles have disappeared.
Still hearing occassional lazuli buntings in the foothills above us.
Big flock of cedar waxwings came in yesterday. Hitting the viburnum
berries fairly heavy.
Heard nuthatches here and in town today.
Also hearing what I think are downy woodpecker calls but no visual.
And finally – drum roll – saw a juvenile swainson on the canal this
morning. After an unusual summer of no buteos – this was a relief.
