eBird taxonomic order follows AOS checklist order (at least for North
America) which includes some of the revisions being seen in eBird (for
example diurnal raptors are now placed shorebirds). There are also some
weird subspecies showing up on the default checklist which as Zeke notes
should be sorted out in the next few days.
