Saw the great crested flycatcher at about 0930 this morning (9/13) along with 2 other folks.  Did not see the warbler, although a warbler-size bird blasted through the trees shortly before seeing the flycatcher.  Ran into Liz Medes and se also saw the immature red-shouldered hawk early this morning, but I did not.  There also seems to be a goshawk in the area.

Kas Dumroese of Moscow reports that the GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER was still present and fairly cooperative, this morning (9/13), with a BLACKPOLL WARBLER.  He may have more details later, here or on eBird.

Re: Wren ID

Dark color and eye brow point to Pacific Wren to me but I have only seen and photographed one and it was up in Kootenai country in Boundary County where it would be expected. There are others here that are for more experienced than me.

Just had this visitor to our yard. I’m “assuming” it is a Pacific Wren, but my experience with wrens is very limited.

Very shy and stayed in the shadows, so had to crank up the ISO to get the picture, thus all the grain.

Any thoughts are welcome.
